While on a trip, we can form meaningful friendships with people from the places we visit. This holds true for our furry friends as well. Meet Stanley, the puppy who recently went on a vacation to Cornwall with his owner, Melanie Talbot. During their trip, they visited the Cornish seal sanctuary where Stanley had the opportunity to make friends with another furry pal, Aayla, the seal puppy. The two even posed for some adorable pictures together, leaving everyone who witnessed the event saying ‘aww.’ As Stanley entered the underwater viewing area, Aayla caught his eye, and the seal puppy appeared just as excited to see her new friend. The two creatures gazed at one another through the tank’s glass partition and spent approximately 20 minutes interacting with each other. It was truly a heartwarming sight to behold.
It seems that Aayla is often seen near the underwater viewing area because she enjoys interacting with both dogs and humans. It’s not surprising that this seal pup has made friends with dogs before, but she definitely took a liking to Stanley. It’s possible that Aayla mistook Stanley for another seal because he was wearing a jacket designed for puppies and his ears were tucked in. Nonetheless, it’s clear that Aayla and Stanley hit it off!
As per Georgina Shannon, a Sea Life Trust Cornish Seal Sanctuary worker, she believes that the female seal was genuinely fascinated by the male seal. In the pictures that were taken, it was evident that she spent a considerable amount of time gazing at him through the glass. The images were so cute that they quickly became viral.
In 2017, Aayla was rescued from Bacton and brought to a sanctuary the following year in search of a permanent home. When Stanley’s owner, Melanie, introduced him to Aayla, it was love at first sight. The two animals immediately bonded, pressing their noses against the glass as though sharing secrets. This meeting marked a special moment for Stanley, as he found a new friend during his visit to Cornwall. All parties involved were delighted to witness this heartwarming friendship unfold.
